How It All Begun

Transforming Generations is Our Story

Reverend Dr. David Ndungu Mwangi, compelled by the desire to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, pursued his college education in the fields of education and ministry in both Canada and the United States. Dr. Mwangi obtained his doctoral degree from Luther Rice College and Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He also completed his studies at Wheaton Bible College in Illinois, earning a Master of Arts, and at Jackson State University in Mississippi, achieving a Master's in Education. Furthermore, he graduated from Ontario Bible College in Canada, attaining a Bachelor's in Theology.

Over a span of more than 30 years, while serving as a pastor within the African Inland Church (AIC) and as an educator in Kenya, Dr. Mwangi was deeply moved by the plight of orphans and destitute children he encountered throughout his career. He was profoundly concerned about the scarcity of resources available to establish a solid foundation in education, healthcare, and robust biblical teachings for the youth. In response to this pressing need, Dr. David Mwangi initiated a ministry in Nakuru, Kenya, in 2004. Over the years, it evolved into a dual boarding school and orphanage known as Grace Primary School, where over 320 children per year received education and nurturing. As time passed, the vision expanded beyond the orphanage to encompass the surrounding communities, introducing post-secondary vocational and technical training. History and Beyond

From 2004 until the global pandemic, Grace Primary School shone as a beacon of hope in Solai, Nakuru Kenya—serving children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. In a world of pain and uncertainty, they found refuge in Christ and received more than education—they gained healthcare, nutrition, and a foundation for a brighter future.

For 17 years, God enabled us to nurture over 320 children annually—physically, academically, and spiritually. The impact endures: graduates have pursued higher education, launched businesses, and now serve in government, private sectors, and ministry. Many have become pastors, counselors, and community leaders, transforming lives for generations.

This legacy is more than achievement—it is a living testimony of faith, perseverance, and God’s amazing grace. What began as a mission to care for the vulnerable has grown into a movement shaping lives, building futures, and glorifying God for generations to come.

In 2021, when COVID-19 forced the closure of Grace Primary School, what felt like an ending became the spark for a new beginning. After celebrating our final graduation, a moment filled with gratitude and hope—we embraced a vision to transform the former orphanage into Lizda Training Institute, a government-registered vocational and trade school.

Youth Impact Global Outreach is moving forward in a God-given mission with passion and purpose. Under the leadership of Reverend Dr. David Mwangi, alongside his wife Elizabeth and our dedicated board, Lizda Training Institute empowers underprivileged young adults with practical skills, entrepreneurial opportunities, and a strong spiritual foundation. With upgraded facilities—including a chapel, lecture halls, and a modern computer lab — we are doing more than educating. We are igniting transformation, restoring hope, and raising leaders who will impact families, communities, and nations for Christ. Visit the programs page to learn more and get involved.
